Activist Disrupts Mexican Congress Session

Irvin García Suárez, a known lawyer, activist, and journalist, made an unexpected appearance in the Chamber of Deputies with the help of legislator Emilio Manzanilla from the PT. To everyone's surprise, García Suárez requested to speak, but his microphone was turned off after it was noted that he was going to shout. The scene brought tension to the chamber, though he ultimately agreed to leave with deputy Ricardo Mejía, while being supported by members of the PT.

The situation became more tense when PRI and PAN called for order, criticizing García's presence in the full session and questioning his behavior. Finally, with shouts and scuffles, the security of the Chamber had to intervene and escort García out of the chamber.

Irvin García is known for his detention in October 2022, accused of express kidnapping and extortion of a minor in Toluca, State of Mexico. His case gained notoriety for denouncing police corruption and extortions in the region. After being released, García sought to expose that he was again receiving threats from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico and held the head responsible for what might happen to him.

In his intervention in the full session, García requested support and diffusion for his case, reminding of other detainees whom he also considers innocent. His presence in the Chamber of Deputies occurred at a key moment, while the prohibition of planting genetically modified corn was being discussed, highlighting his fight for justice and denunciation of alleged injustices in the State of Mexico.
